About Max Linen
We are so excited that you have found your way here and we would love to share a little bit about us.
Max Linen is a small family run business. It was created out of our desire to share the beauty and benefits of stonewashed 100% European flax linen. We also found it difficult to find quality linen in separates and in a soft colour pallete to mix and match. Understanding the incredible benefits of linen; hypoallergenic, antibacterial, breathable and highly sustainable, of course we wanted to snuggle our babies up in it too, so this is why we knew a nursery collection was a must.
We have created beautiful, timeless pieces for you and your children that you will love forever. During the process we have carefully selected a limited essential range, which includes colours that are in harmony. This is done to ensure your shopping experience is simple and fruitful. As busy mums we understand how little free time you have available, therefore, want to make your experience shopping for your little ones as easy as possible. At Max Linen, Simplicity is Bliss.
We are 100% confident in the quality and feel of our products, as we have tried and tested everything. We have even managed to convert our partners who are now linen aficionados.
A little bit about our linen...
Our flax linen is grown in Europe in regions that specialise in flax. Linen by nature is one of the the most sustainable fabrics. The incredible flax plant has many uses such as oil from the flaxseeds or simply using the seeds in your favourite cereal or smoothie. The flax plant requires significantly less water and no chemicals to grow and process. Our linen is also Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified, which is recognised as the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. It also includes a list of process-related criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain. To obtain a certification, our linen needs to comply with social criteria such as working conditions, pay, and stringent health and safety standards throughout the supply chain.
In addition to the GOTS certification our linen is also OEKO-Tex certified meaning that our fabric is tested to make sure no harmful substances are used so you can rest assured you and your baby are in safe hands.
Our Linen is 165-170gsm, linen does not have a thread count, we have tried and tested different gsm weights and firmly believe our 165-170gsm is the ideal weight for bedding.
Our packaging
Here at Max, we conscious of our environmental imprint. For this reason, we package our play mats, cot blankets and King and Queen bedding in their very own linen bag reducing the need for plastic. So from the beginning right through to the 100% compostable, zero-waste packaging that we mail in you can feel confident knowing that we have thought about everything.
Dying our linen
Linen is incredibly hypoallergenic because it's breathable and it does not lock in moisture for bacteria to form. With that in mind we wanted to preserve this wonderful quality so no formaldehyde is used to set our environmental dyes, meaning less toxins for your and your babies body.
